Stroll along the bustling waterfront at Viaduct Harbour, or take a short scenic seaplane flight. If it’s a fine evening, a dinner cruise is a relaxing way to begin your holiday.

Depart Auckland and head south to the renowned geothermal area of Rotorua. This evening, gain an insight to the beautiful Māori culture at Tamaki Māori Village with a pōwhiri (welcoming ceremony), interactive displays of rituals and traditions, and a three course hāngī (earth oven) buffet meal.

Enjoy a full day of play in Rotorua. Why not pop into Polynesian Spa for deluxe mineral bathing and spa therapies, before taking the gondola up Mt Ngongotaha. At the top, you are treated to sensational panoramic views of the city and lake. Grab a casual bite to eat at Food Market, and the adventurous might have an appetite for a thrilling luge ride.

En route to the Art Deco city, make a stop before Taupō to view the crashing Huka Falls and marvel at this potent force of nature. Upon arrival in Napier, don’t go past a visit to Silky Oak Chocolates. With the only comprehensive chocolate museum in Asia Pacific, a cafe, and indulgent confections made on-site, you may never want to leave…

Take your time to explore Napier today. Maybe a vintage car tour or guided walk to view the best of the 1930s architecture, or drive out to Cape Kidnappers for a tākapu (gannet) safari. Tonight you will join a Twilight Odyssey tour through Hawke’s Bay, which includes a visit to three of the province’s finest wineries for tastings and a progressive three course dinner.

Your drive to Wellington will take you through the boutique wine-growing district of Wairarapa, where you might like to stop for lunch at a winery restaurant before carrying on to New Zealand’s lively capital. Wellington is a vibrant city known for its exceptional cafes and restaurants, arts culture, and rich political history. An excursion to our national museum, Te Papa , is highly recommended.

Cross Raukawa Moana (Cook Strait) today on a three hour sailing, and enjoy one of the most beautiful ferry rides in the world. After traversing the strait, you will navigate gently through the spectacular Marlborough Sounds and into Picton. Welcome to Te Waipounamu (South Island)! From Picton it’s a short drive to Blenheim in the heart of Marlborough, New Zealand’s flagship wine region.

Join the Marlborough Icons tour and savour the area’s ‘top three’ all in one day. The full-day experience begins with a visit to several wineries, giving you plenty of opportunity to sample the world-renowned sauvignon blanc. This is followed by a sublime lunch on the waterfront, and a relaxing seafood cruise in the afternoon.

The drive south will take you through Nelson Lakes National Park, home to the beginning of the mighty Southern Alps. The enchanting alpine landscape showcases rugged peaks, forests, and glacial lakes. On arrival in Christchurch this evening you may wish to dine onboard the unique Tramway Restaurant – a great way to conclude your New Zealand food and wine adventure.

Return your rental car at Christchurch Airport in time for your flight home.
