Abel Tasman National Park is located in the north western corner of the South Island with easy access from Nelson. The track passes through unspoiled native forest largely following the coastline, giving frequent views of gently curved beaches of golden sand separated by rocky headlands. This is an enchanted coast with delightful waterfalls spilling into tranquil lagoons and streams trickling through rocks to the sea. The water is clear and clean, home to a wide variety of fish as well as dolphins, penguins and seals.
