Abel Tasman National Park is located in the north western corner of the South Island with easy access from Nelson. The track passes through unspoiled native forest largely following the coastline, giving frequent views of gently curved beaches of golden sand separated by rocky headlands.

Due to limited availability and high demand, your Abel Tasman Guided Walk booking must be protected by payment to Kirra Holidays by a deposit per person within 7 days of confirmation and a final balance 65 days prior to departure.
Cancellations:
Cancellations up until 65 days prior to departure - deposit is forfieted. 65 - 30 days prior to departure 30% cancellation, 29 - 10 days prior to departure 50% cancellation, 9 days and under NIL refund.

Day 1 - Day 1 - Nelson/Motueka to Awaroa Bay
| You are collected from your accommodation in Nelson and taken to the Motueka office where you
leave any excess luggage; day packs are given out and introductions made. Travel by coach to Kaiteriteri
where you join our scenic launch cruise to Totaranui where upon disembarking you walk north to Anapai
Bay, further if energetic, before returning to Awaroa, the site of the beachfront Meadowbank Homestead
which provides the comfort and atmosphere you deserve at the end of the day. (L, D) Cruise Kaiteriteri to Totaranui - 2 hours Walking distance: 8-10kms/3.5 - 4 hours depending on options |
Day 2 - Day 2 - Awaroa Bay
| This can be as relaxing or as energetic as you like. Tonight you are again at the Meadowbank Homestead Lodge. Take advantage of the largest tidal estuary in the Abel Tasman Park, explore it by canoe, or visit the various early European and pre-European sites with a Guide, or just unwind on the beach. Day 3 - Day 3 - Awaroa Bay to Torrent Bay
| Today we leave Awaroa, walk over the Tonga Saddle and visit the Tonga Quarry where granite rock was
shipped out. Continue on to Bark Bay, for a lunch stop. Take time to relax, explore or swim in the crystal clear lagoon, or sunbathe on the golden sand. From Bark Bay continue on to Falls River through
spectacular native forests. Following is a succession of magnificent views of headlands, estuaries and
beaches. From here continue on to the beach-front lodge at Torrent Bay. (B, L, D) Walking distance: 17kms/6-7 hours |
Day 4 - Day 4 - Torrent Bay
| Today is a day of choices! Guides can offer you a walk inland amongst breathtaking first generation
forests up to the waterfalls on Falls River or take advantage of a skilled sea kayak/canoe guide to
show you the ropes and take you out into the best sea kayaking/canoeing area in the Park. Torrent Bay
Lodge is again your base tonight. (B, L, D) Optional walking distance: 10kms/up to 5 hours and canoeing (tide dependant) |
Day 5 - Day 5 - Torrent Bay to Motueka/Nelson
| The final easy day, continue south, only one hill at the start and the rest is plain sailing for approximately
four hours on a well graded track which weaves in and out of the Astrolabe Roadstead coastline. An
hour or so is spent at lunchtime enjoying one of these bays, then on to Marahau to board the coach and
return to Motueka at 4.30pm or Nelson by 5.30pm, after collecting our luggage. (B, L) Walking distance: 13kms/4 hours |
